Editorial policy
How guides are written
- Every guide starts with a short, self-contained answer, then explains in plain English.
- Factual claims that can change (laws, figures, network rules) are checked against primary sources: official project documentation, government agencies such as the IRS, FBI and FTC, and the original papers. Sources are listed at the end of each guide.
- Figures that change are dated ("as of October 2026").
- We separate fact from opinion, and present the main arguments on both sides where people disagree.
How calculators are checked
Each calculator states its formula and assumptions next to the result, and is tested against independently worked examples before publishing. Calculators never fetch or invent live prices; you enter the numbers.
Reviews and dates
The "reviewed" date on a guide changes only when someone actually rechecks it, not automatically.
Independence
No company can pay to change a guide. Any future advertising or affiliate links will be labeled where they appear.
Not advice
Everything here is general education. It is not financial, investment, tax or legal advice for your situation.
